• I have three running websites running an Envision theme…..all three of these sites have two things in common…they are running this plugin (updated from existing installs) and the Envision theme. All of a sudden yesterday, all of my media files disappear from the WordPress control panel under Media…..On the server they are still there though. The other two site I had to manually re-upload each file and relink them.
On the third site which this is happening right now…..it seemed progressive…the site logo was gone, then on one of the pages some where gone…so, I removed your plugin (uninstalled right away). I am now testing to see if that is what was somehow getting into the database and doing some sort of redirect.

ah HAH…..I was using WordFence…..that could be the culprit…

Oh, the one site I had a 30% fallout was using BruteProtect.

    Hmmmmm..

Perhaps it’s best to check the plugin for any “hole” that allows for hackers to inject malware?

Remember, I too had such a problem after upgrading to 3.11.

    BTW, where is 3.12?

3.12 is coming out this weekend as I’m having another programmer go through the code to make sure there are no problems with it. As you will see here, I put up a post about malware:

    Thanks, Allen!

Ok, I updated to 3.13….and, this other site got killed again….I had to re-upload all images…..I am using BruteProtect. Just an FYI…I had hoped this last update would have fixed everything….so, I ams till reluctant to implement on other sites….funny though…On one site I repopulated all my images and left the plugin in tact, I have so security plugin and I have not have a problem.

sorry about what happened, but it turns out a url was being passed as a post_id, which should have given an error, but WP give the post-ID a 0, which then caused the problem. This was fixed in 3.13.

Just wanted to add my three cents.. I am having the same issue others have reported with posts and images being completely deleted from the site.. In my case the two sites affected were my main site (which effectively KILLED my invoicing plugin by deleting MANY of my invoices and estimates), and a test/dev site. I have since upgraded both to the latest release, but am SUPER concerned that this could happen again..

this will not happen again…as I said, we put in a bug notice to WP about the core taking a string and turning it into a 0 (our mistake of sending a string, but then WP taking that string and turning it into a 0 caused the problem)….so two things happened that resulted in this major issue. We take these problems seriously, which is why once we heard about it we put up an update asap.

Thanks Allen for the reassurance.. Unfortunately for me the damage to my invoices/and estimates is irrevocable.. **sigh**

I am trying to piece things back together as best as I can, but the BIG lesson for me now is that I am going do plugin updates manually going forward so I can do a file comparison first before implementing changes..

Are any of you using iMember360? In my case, I strongly believe that was the cause of the problem.

Nope it was DEFINITELY this plugin that was the issue for many of us who lost posts and media..
