Is this a wordpress fault ?

  • Hello,
    I have installed many free themes and the footer links & tekst like “design by…” cannot removed that.
    Then i have buy a theme special for the credit links, theme costed my $37 the owner of the theme has said my you can now delete the footer links & tekst to remove this line in footer.php file. So i removed the line and saved the file but its showing again ?

    I have see on other sites that get removed, same theme

    It is not a WordPress fault. A theme with footer links that cannot be removed will probably not be compatible with the GPL licensing that themes should inherit from WordPress and they are not supported here. If you paid for an unlocked version you need to go back to the vendor for support, however you should be wary of ANY theme that may contain encrypted code to limit how it is used.
