Is this a plugin that can be used on WP 3.9.1?

Since I always run the latest version WordPress and this plugin was last updated or maintained over a year ago (WP 3.6.1)should I even bother with it? I noticed several support issues not bothered to be responded either–raises red flags for me.
Anyone have suggestions for something else?
