• We have a blog that we deleted 100’s of images. (via FTP)

We also deleted the posts that uses those.

But now when we try to regenerate all the images (remaining pages), we noticed for some reason it is still trying to scan for the old files (because we can see the image file name). But keep in mind we intentiionally and manually deleted those already.

My question is it a flaw that it is trying to regenerate missing files? Basically I think it’s scanning for all files since we started the blog, even ones that are gone.

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thomas

  • I would figure that WP still thinks that the files exist. In order to delete them, and update WP’s knowledge of what is where, you would have to delete them through the Media admin screen. This updates the database tables. Otherwise, you’ll have to run commands through the database and update it that way.
