Is there something that can give my categories the “recent posts” effect?

  • Just in case no one understood what I meant, I’ll explain it.

    Recent posts and Recent comments lists a few of the last posts and comments, right?

    What if I could have something that lists the last posts that have a certain category?

    Example Sidebar

    TV
    Family Guy is all new tonight
    Prison Break have new cast members

    Music
    Diddy chances his name to D.
    Fall Out Boy in concert Saturday

    See what I mean? Is there something that can do that for me? Or would I have to do it manually?
