• Since yesterday i’ve been plagued with a math captcha appearing on my login page. This only results in going around in circles.
Contacted the host who suggested that JetPack might be the culpit. Turn off JetPack through FTP. Problem solved.

Reinstalled JetPack and on the second login the math captcha reappeared. Even whitelisting my IP address won’t help.

Is there a way to disable this option on whitelisted IP.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

That math captcha is added by Jetpack’s Protect module. It appears in 2 situations:

    1. When your IP has been flagged as malicious and is not whitelisted on that site.
    2. When your site isn’t able to communicate with the Protect API to check the status of your IP.

Since you’ve already whitelisted your IP, we can rule out option 1. Your site might not be able to communicate with the Protect API if you use a firewall or a reverse proxy that would restrict incoming connections from third-party servers.

The immediate solution for you would be to go to Jetpack > Settings in your dashboard, and deactivate the Protect module. It will remove the Math Captcha.

Then, we can look at what can cause the issue on your site. If you can post your site URL here, I’ll be happy to take a closer look.

If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:
