Is there any way to get billing details using this?

    Hey guys, just came across this last night and set it up with my sandbox details and it all seems super sweet and easy so kudos for releasing such a good free plugin.

    I have some questions that may be more related to how PayPal Express actually works rather than your plugin, I’m not sure but here we go:

    Firstly, using the express checkout if you opt to pay without a PayPal account via credit card you have to enter the credit card billing details and a phone number. Is there any way for woocommerce to pick up these fields and add them back into the billing address details for the order?

    Similarly, if the person opts to pay with a PayPal account and logs in through the express checkout, is it possible to acquire any billing details from paypal to attach to the order in woocommerce?

    One of the advantages of PayPal for buyers in general is that they don’t have to share billing details with the merchants they buy from. So no, you won’t be getting the actual billing information back.

    You will, however, get the buyer’s name, email, shipping address, phone number (depending on your PayPal profile settings), etc. so that the order in WooCommerce is complete when checkout is finished.

    Same with PayPal payment. All you’re going to get back is the shipping info. You’ll know the payment was completed, and you’ll be able to see the payment status, address status, etc. You can check the address status to make sure it’s confirmed which will tell you whether or not it matches the billing address of the buyer’s credit card.

    So again, while you won’t get actual “billing” detail you will get all the detail you’ll need to fulfill the order.

    Thanks guys, I figured that might be the case. I’ve only used PayPal standard previously so wasn’t sure if it was an express feature or otherwise.

    The only thing I’m missing is the phone number so I’ll have to try and work out how to get that back in to woocommerce.

    In your PayPal account profile you can set an option to require a phone number so the buyer has to include it during checkout. I believe it’s under Payment Receiving Preferences.
