Is there any way to create heading Anchors without inserting the TOC?

    Hey there,

    First of all, thanks a ton to the Dev. I’m still pretty new to the plugin but it seems pretty useful so far.

    Quick question – Is there any way to create heading anchors I can link to without inserting the TOC? There may be pages where I don’t have a need for the TOC, but I’d appreciate linking to one of the headings like I can do to the other posts which do use the TOC. I don’t know if it’s possible, or if there’s some workaround, but I thought it was worth asking. I’ve searched and haven’t found the answer so far. If there’s an alternative to manually creating the heading anchors individually it would be pretty nifty.

    If anyone could provide insight, it’s appreciated.

    Sorry, this is not possible with ezTOC. I’ve had this request at least once before so it is in my feature request list.

    You can create these rather easily yourself as needed. Here’s a link I found to a tutorial after a quick web search:

    Thanks @shazahm1! Regardless I appreciate the answer.

    Yeah, I was aware of manually creating them. It’s just that that wouldn’t serve the usage scenario. Namely certain posts where you know you might need an anchor link in the future, but you don’t need it now and you don’t know which. In such case creating them all manually just in case doesn’t make much sense.

    To be honest, it seems like a wasted opportunity for WordPress to not implement them automatically with headings. The internet would be so much nicer is people linked more often to the exact section in question rather than post a link and expecting you to find whatever they’re referring to.
