• The whole point of having multi-site capability is to be able to post and maintain all my 10 blogs from one interface. This does not seem possible without additional plug-ins. Correct me if I am wrong.

  • That woudl be part of it. On your webhost, do you have a section in the control panel to list to domains you want to host there?

I am not sure If I follow.
I am listing the domains I am using.

    Main domain:
iliked.info (Registered some where and parked on this host)
    iliked.info. 14400 IN A 74.86.202.40
    *.iliked.info. 14400 IN A 74.86.202.40

Domains trying to mask test.iliked.info with:
    try.pingit.info. 14400 IN CNAME test.iliked.info
pingit.info (Registered some where and parked on this host)
try.gget.info(hosted some where also and I created cname record to iliked.info)

    Product: Hosting – Shared – Unlimited – Linux – 1 year (recurring)
    Domain: redleafnetwork.com
    Server IP: 97.74.215.236

    Thank you.

@asshu your problem is different and should be in a separate thread. I think I alreayd asked some relevant question in another thread of yours.

I am still unable to solve my problem. My domains will not map to the virtual sites created by the 3.0 network feature. If someone could please help me I would truly appreciate it. If email is a better way here is mine. redleafnetwork (at) gmail (dot) com. If you require an Acc. Exec. login to my hosting account that’s ok too.

    Thank you.

Woo Hoo DONE! Absolutely NOTHING to do with c-name or a-records etc. That was what was confusing me. Did not make a single change to the DNS server side. My only concern is that I am beholden to a third-party plug in called WordPress MU Domain Mapping. This means I am hostage to their upgrade schedules as and when we get to 3.1, 3.2 etc. I wish it was a core product or function. Bet hey, it works for now! Thanks everyone. On to the next task. Now I have to figure out how to pull featured and latest posts into the main network page as a portal to the network of blogs. I might see you soon on that. lol Thanks again people and especially Andrea.

    @andrea
    Sorry !

    yay!

If it helps, the plugin rarely “needs” updating and was built by the guy who originally made WPMU, and it also coded by the guy who did the actual merging of mu into 3.0.

I could see it becoming a core plugin.

That makes me feel a whole lot better, thanks ??
