• Hello,

We are using this plugin successfully, however a bit different from it was designed for.

In our case, we are having participants add data, which could be restaurants, people, locations etc. So they will have multiple entries, but the problem is they are forced to use multiple emails. Can this be changed so one email can allow multiple entries?

    Thank you

You can configure the plugin to allow multiple records with the same email. In the plugin settings under the Signup Form tab, check the “Duplicate Record Check Field” setting.

I’m sorry It’s unclear as to what to change the setting to that I don’t understand.
I am looking at the settings in the Participant’s Database Settings page.
    Likewise, I have these options:

Duplicate Record Check Field: Email (email)
Duplicate Record Preference: Create a new record with the submission

Do I change it from “Email” to what?
When you respond with “Check the “Duplicate Record Check Field” but no specific
    What to change it to.

Sorry still confused with the response.

If you have the “Duplicate Record Preference” setting set to create a new record, then it doesn’t matter what the duplicate record check field is, because the duplicate check is disabled with that setting.

I suggested you check the setting because I don’t know what the correct setting is in your case, that is up to you.

I see the setting “Duplicate Record Preference, and it is set to “Create a new record with the submission” The problem is with that setting and “Duplicate Record Check Field” set to email, last name or WP User ID once you enter one submission the next one still gets the error “You already have an account”

You can see the error and try a submission at https://badlawyer.cleancourts.org/sign-up/

I then need to clear the browser history to use it again. Is that normal?

Are you using the Participants Database WP User Profile add-on? That message indicates the person already has an account and each person can only have one account.

If so, no, you cannot have multiple accounts with the same email, because a WP profile must have a unique email address. That is a very different kind of setup than the default signup, you didn’t explain that in your question.

I don’t have the complete picture of what you’re trying to build, but if you’re building a user-contributed directory or something like that, you can’t use the PDB WP Profile add-on for that because with that plugin each Participants Database record is tied to a single WP account. And with that you can’t have records with duplicate email addresses.
