Is there a way to link a wordpress blog to an external CMS?

    I am setting up a WordPress blog for a client. This blog will have its own URL and will run separately from their current website.
    At the same time they are redoing their website including a custom developed CMS. Now the question they raised today is whether they can link their new CMS to WordPress and publish blogs from there?
    Is this possible and if so how can it be done?
