I’ve got an older site that I recently updated to the latest version of WooCommerce, and the Woocommerce Tour Kit function is hijacking the backend of the website.

Specifically, when I change a Simple Product to a Variable Product, I can no longer click anywhere on the screen except for on Attributes, and even when I do that, I can’t click to create any attributes.

What’s happening is that the WooCommerce Tour Kit function has created an overlay with a (presumably) helpful popup explaining how Variable Products work — except none of that is visible to me. All that I see is the normal product screen, except that I can’t click anything.

When I check the code inspector, I can see that there’s a new div with a class name wp-tour-kit-spotlit that has hijacked the screen — except I can’t see it.

Is there a way to disable this Tour Kit function for all users?

    Hi @drrichbunk,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Is there a way to disable this Tour Kit function for all users?

I understand you’ve been facing a unique issue in your store, however, so that we can be able to visually understand this issue further, please share a screen recording replicating this issue. You can use a screen recording software like https://www.loom.com/ and share the direct link here with us.

Also, please don’t forget to include your system status report in your reply. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Thanks @ckadenge,

I ended up testing it out on a staging server with the Storefront theme and all plugins deactivated. It turns out that the culprit was a plugin called Semrush SEO Writing Assistant. I’ve posted the issue on that plugin’s support forum, and will leave it deactivated until there’s a fix.

That said, I do think it would be a nice feature to allow admins to be able to select whether or not they want Tour Kit tooltips to be active on their site or not.

    Thanks again for your help!

Hey Cliff – Thanks for getting back to us! I’m glad to see you managed to resolve the issue here (or at least identify the culprit plugin).
