Is there a way to check whether age gate is shown?

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the plugin! Is there a way to check whether age gate is shown? I mean something like is_age_gate? Also, I’d like to know how can I override templates via a child theme, I need to change buttons.php but don’t want to edit plugin files directly.

    Hi @b0zar,

    There isn’t at the moment. V2 is in the works and coming along nicely so I’ll be able to add an action in there. You could potentially do it with JS, but I guess that’s not helpful?

    What are you looking to change on buttons? Is it the yes/no text as that’ll be an option in v2. I’m not planning on any more releases on v1 so it should be ok to edit for now as there’s no child theme support as the form post expects particular inputs.

    Hi Phil,

    Is there an ETA on this? Unfortunately, JS is not an option since I need to disable some theme-related code on the AgeGate page.

    Okay, we can live with it. I added a language switcher so I want to make it update safe, otherwise, if a client updates the plugin, my customization disappears.

    Hopefully not too long – v2 is a complete rewrite but it’s going well. Most of the admin stuff has been redone so now just front-end, and much of that won’t be too different to v1. I’m hoping by the end of the week, maybe early next week if anything else gets in the way.
