Is there a plugin to utilize a welcome message

    I want to have the front page display the latest posts, but I’d like to be able to add an editable welcome message above these posts on only the front page. Is this possible?

    Anyone know how I can manage this? Using WP 2.6.2. I’ve been wading through the plugins and widgets but so far no luck.

    i’m looking for the same thing, have you had any luck?

    Not sure if you can edit it on your current theme but I have seen a few themes with a welcome message column already built in them, so you might be able to find one which fulfils your requirements and comes with a top column.
