Is there a plugin that will hide/remove the category and author link from posts?

I wasn’t sure if I should post this in “Plugin and Hacks” or over here. I’ve also searched for about an hour and really haven’t found an answer….

My question is this:

Is there a plugin that will hide/remove the category and author link from posts and the home page of a WordPress site?

I’ve found some plugins that seem to talk about doing such things, but when I dig deeper, it doesn’t seem like that do what I’m looking for.

Anyone know of such plugins?

P.S. I know I can do this by editing the required .php file, but I want to avoid that for updating purposes.
