• I’m generally working in draft articles all the time, and only want to ping weblogs when I actually make it sticky/publish status. Rather than looking for state change, is there a simple way to add a button to either the edit page or the admin posts list to say “send all update ping for this post”?
    Thanks!

  • It should already only ping when moving to publish status.

    Pingomatic simply RULEZ.

Matt – Yeah, the problem is sometimes I have it draft, sometimes I have it private, sometimes I’m working with something accidentally published… Also don’t know when that ‘check’ was added, and I’m on such stale code at this point it’s almost better for me to do it more manually.
Podz – Thanks for the link. So that’s where dougal has been.. ?? That’ll be a lot of help.
I’ll probably start hacking around to build a little ‘click-to-ping’ item for admins, so that others in this situation can have a shortcut. And then extend it when pingomatic opens up their RPC interface… ??

this may be a stupid question but do you put your RSS url into pingomatic or just your https://www.example.com url
also, do you just put the title of your website or do you also put a description in there? i know a description is in the RSS .. ??
