    Nick,
    Is there a format hierarchy for grouped calendars? what i’m trying to understand is if I have an existing grouped list (2 google calendars) and I want to show only events for TODAY, will the template tags used for the TODAY calendar take precedence over the template tags for my grouped list?

    for instance, in the TODAY’s events view I only want to show title/start-time. I have that as the format for that calendar. I grouping the other existing list via category. The format (template tags) on the existing list has additional tags (when, location, description, etc) which I don’t want on the TODAY’s event view.

    When you are using a grouped calendar the template tags will be taken from their respective individual calendar. Does that help answer your question?

    yes that does. so i have to create a new set of individual calendars with the template tags i want, and then group them.

    is it feasible to mark this as a future enhancement? Template Tags are driven at the grouped calendar level

    So you would rather the grouped calendar event template apply to all of the calendars it holds than to use the individual ones? Just want to make sure I am understanding the request correctly.

    correct. Reasoning is that I may be displaying information differently for a single day – “today’s events” vs. a list of upcoming events. if I had 2 calendars to group, I’d have to create 4 versions (Cal1, Cal1a, Cal2, Cal2a) so that I could group Cal 1 & Cal 2 and subsequently group Cal1a and 2a. If the grouped calendar template dealt with the layout, I could just create the one individual calendar per google retrieved calendar and use the group template to effect the display.

    Alright thank you. I will keep this in mind. It was during the beta testing of 3.x that some users said they would prefer that the event template stay individualized even in a grouped calendar but I definitely can see your point of view also. I will talk with the team and see if we can brainstorm a happy medium for everyone.

    The option below should accommodate both needs and be backwards compatible.

    In Grouped Calendar tab, add one line with 2 radio buttons:
    Get Template From (-) Individual calendars (?) Group

    The first option will be selected by default to avoid breaking existing calendars. This would also make it clear to the user which template is used.

    Eventually, we could add a third option that completely separates templates from calendar feed.
