Is there a default 'portfolio' feature now?

I’m a freelance designer and I’m working with a client who has a portfolio theme. The ‘portfolio’ feature on her site has somehow disappeared.

I have a ‘test’ website where I create and experiment with WordPress themes. I have a copy of the client’s theme on it and the portfolio feature is there. The ‘portfolio’ feature works on all the other themes on the test site, including the WordPress default ones. I don’t remember ever installing a portfolio plugin, so is this a standard WordPress feature now?
