Is the WP responsive images support (srcset) dependent on theme used?

  • Hi!

    It’s been a while since I developed with WP, last time I needed to use plugins and polyfills to get responsive srcset code into the page.

    Apparently WP does now handle responsive images natively, is that for all themes, or does the theme have to leverage some special code to make use of WP’s srcset-generation capabilities?
