    Make your store more secure

Re-connect your Stripe account using the new authentication flow by clicking the “Re-authenticate” button and make your store safer.

Is this a must? do the api key will continue to work? Thanks.

    Hi @theqland,

Using API keys to connect your Stripe account to WooCommerce can potentially expose your business to card testing attacks and fraud. To mitigate this risk, we’re requiring all Stripe extension merchants to re-authenticate their Stripe account using OAuth.

With this in mind,?Since Stripe 8.6.0 (releasing on Aug 8) we’ve pushed a change that allows merchants who are already authenticated?to Stripe.com via manual API key entry to re-authenticate using OAuth, the more secure method. You will be able to do this in a single click, and the API key interface will be completely removed. We’ll also be?automating the webhook setup?so that it’s not a separate step. This will also?delete any old pre-existing webhooks.

Please note that your account will continue to work just the same, with the added benefit that it’ll be more secure! ?? Not doing this could result in disruption to your ability to take some forms of payment by 29 October 2024, so it’s advised to do this change before that date.
