Is "Portfolio Projects" option JetPack's equivalent of CPT?

    Hello,
    I am wondering what exactly “Portfolio Projects” is.

    In a jetpack-enabled blog, the option to enable Portfolio Projects is placed on Writting-Settings page under the lable “Your Custom Content Type”. [Custom Content Type actually the same thing – and technically a better term – for Custom Post Types. Right?]

    Is it merely JetPack’s equivalent of what Custom Post Type generator plugins do OR something unique? [If the former, I think they could have done better.]

    I tried to Google this issue but found no insight.

    Jetpack’s Custom Content Types are indeed Custom Post Types. There is only one at the moment, “Portfolios”, but we plan on adding more in the future.

    Custom Post Type Generator plugins are a bit different, since they offer you to create your own Post Type. Jetpack’s Custom Post Types are already created for you.

    I did not mean to belittle your work. However, I was wondering why you provided only one option with no option to rename it.
    Especially, since I can’t figure out its accepted/common usage in the case of an online magazine.

    [You’re right I confused the naming issue. It was based on an incorrect recollection of a blog post by your colleague Mark Jaquith. I raised it here b/c I thought a third kind of feature came up. Please disregard that point.].
