    Hi,
    When I try to test my website on PageSpeed Insights, last a few days it is returning an error. It says;

FAILED_DOCUMENT_REQUEST. Lighthouse was unable to reliably load the page you requested. Make sure you are testing the correct URL and that the server is properly responding to all requests. (Details: net::ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED)

I was wondering if something is blocking it.

    I will appreciate your advice.

    Thanks,
    Tony Hisir

Hi @copperrefections, thanks for getting in touch!

In the past, we’ve noticed that the IPs for PageSpeed Insights may need to be allowlisted. If these requests are being blocked by Wordfence, you should see these requests in the Wordfence > Tools > Live Traffic page. Are you seeing any blocks here timestamped when you try to run it? If so, you could allowlist them.

You can add all of the IPs you see to Wordfence > All Options > Allowlisted IP addresses that bypass all rules if the option to whitelist is not available in the Live Traffic.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi Peter,
    Thank you for your advice.
I checked the IPs on IP Location Finder and white list but did not work. Deactivated Wordfence, still PageSpeed Insights does not work. Maybe some other plugin is causing it.
    Thanks,
    Tony

Hi @copperrefections thanks for the update.

If the problem still presents without Wordfence enabled, I would suggest in addition to disabling other plugins, contacting your host for advice. When Wordfence is unable to connect to our servers or back to your site (as is being experienced by PageSpeed Insights in this case), it is often because your site is behind a firewall or reverse proxy that may need action from the host to allow certain connections or IP addresses in.

I hope that helps you out!

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi Peter,
I have an update about this. The host company, FastComet said that Lighthouse is going to be fixing this problem in a few days.

    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hi @copperrefections,

Thank-you for the update, I appreciate it and will bear that in mind if any other instances of this issue crop up. If you have Wordfence questions in future, don’t hesitate to start a new topic and we’ll be glad to help out any time.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
