    Hi,

One visitor just leaves a comment on our blog, as follows:

“Hi there, I do think your blog may be having internet browser compatibility issues.
Whenever I take a look at your web site
in Safari, it looks fine but when opening in I.E., it’s got some overlapping issues.”

I try to test IE on our blog https://www.datanumen.com/blogs/ and do not find overlapping issues. So how to find the problem? And whether the issue is related to WordPress or the Theme?

    Thanks

Sadly, that’s a very common type of spam comment.

Take a look at a website left with the comment. Is that something you want folks visiting, or is it a store, loan broken, porn site, etc?

Spammers are getting good at leaving vaguely related or vaguely positive comments in hopes that you’ll approve them. If you’re even in doubt about a comment’s authenticity, check the website they’ve included with it.

Well, with IE9 and Firefox v46 I see the same thing. The bar with search is overlapping the edge: https://i.imgur.com/3DQgocT.png and at the bottom, the social buttons are covered up: https://i.imgur.com/0lLzxH3.png

That’s the only overlapping things I see. But, it looks like the buttons on the bottom move when hovering so perhaps that is normal. I also don’t know if the search thing is normal or not.

A screenshot of what that user is seeing would be the most helpful for comparison.

Oh, and as James said, it may just be bogus comment.

I do see the same search overlap in Chrome 50.0.2661.94 too.

Regarding the social buttons though, they appear on hover. I think the slight cover is more of an intentional “there’s something here, try to click it” lead.

    Hi, James and MarkRH,

Thank you very much for your quick answers. These two overlaps are indeed by-design. So actually I am again cheated by bogus comment.

I mark this topic as solved. Thanks again!
