is one database of 1 GB is enough for ecommerce website?

  • Hey, i am new and learning wordpress and i am building a small ecommerce website in wordpress by using woocommerce.
    So i want to know that is 1GB mysql database is enough for small ecommerce website(but could be big in future)?
    and
    is wordpress woocommerce is good to start learning building ecommerce webisites if you suggest something else would be appreciate?

  • I can say no! Mainly depends on your no. of products. How many products?

    1GB will be more then enough for a while. When you see it gettign bigger you can move to a new hosting package with more space. I’m sure that your hosting company would be able ot help you out with that.

    Yes on all fronts:
    – 1Gb of database is quite large, many thousands of products, it is as likely that you will run into limits on media storage (pictures etc) before the database size becomes an issue.
    – woocommerce is a very common and popular choice

    Suggest that before you commit your resources, time and webdesign to a specific theme or plugin, that you join and browse their support forums. Are there people like you asking questions, do they get meaningful assistance, are responses timely.
