Is ok to delete meta keys from post meta

    Hi,

    is ok to delete meta keys that are not being used from the post-meta database?

    Examples of meta keys that we do not use;
    sale_price
    manage_stock
    backorders
    length
    download_limit

    Nothing is there without a reason even if you think you’re not using it. ??

    May I ask why you want to delete these post meta fields? Perhaps we can advise another solution for your problem without deleting anything.

    I was thinking if I delete meta keys that are not being used database base will be lighter and may be faster.

    Hi,

    I understand your point.

    In general, databases are created to save lot batches of data. Which means that deleting some fields will not make a difference. Databases searches work based on search tree algorithm which help you to perform optimized queries.
