Is native gallery working with this?

    Is this working for people running 4.7 and using the native wordpress Gallery?

    I have

    [gallery ids="n,n,n"]

    on a page, and it shows the gallery in a 3-columnn grid, but when I click on an image, it goes to the attachment page.
    Based on the docs, I thought this was automatically supposed to start a lightbox with clicking to go to next image?

    It does work when I insert individual images (linked to the image file). But then it is not a sequence of images, only 1 image is shown at time in the lightbox.

    Hey bwooster,

    It sounds like you just need to change your gallery setting to link to the image file rather than the attachment page. If you change that, you should be all set.

    I could not find any way to “Edit the gallery” as shown in the wordpress documents

    All I had was Create Gallery, and it does not offer any options.

    But – did find the shortcode list, and adding this fixed it:

    link=”file”

    to [gallery ...] in the page.

    And I found that Edit Gallery is not possible when editing in Text mode.
    Switching to visual mode shows the edit button next to the gallery… but I’ve had problems with bugs in WordPress switching from/to Visual and Text modes, so usually avoid Visual mode.
