    Hi Support,

I use Free version of Updraft Plus on multiple sites (7 or 8 client sites) and all Updraft Backup files for each site go to my Dropbox Business account to the Apps folder. I’ve always been able to restore Updraft files successfully to a website until today.

    The following issues have occurred:

    1. Since the end of April, Updraft has been making multiple daily backups on some of my client’s sites every day. So for example, several days in April now show multiple backups for a single day. For one particular site, ABC, I deleted the backups that I determined were most relevant, via Updraft, for dates from April 28 to May 4th.

    2. When I went to restore a file for ABC site, for April 26, it brought in a backup with the correct date – but from the wrong website!

    3. The deletions I did for ABC site ALSO deleted all my other clients sites for the same time period! Fortunately I was able to go into Dropbox and RESTORE files. Now I will have to go into each client’s site and do a Refresh Scan.

Can you please tell me how I can get Dropbox to determine which files belong to which client? I see that the file names contain the name of the client, which has always served me well, but now if Updraft can’t distinguish which backup belongs to which client, I will lose dozens of clients if I should backup their website incorrectly. It’s very frightening.

    Please help!

    Thank you.

    Hi,

You need to store the backups for each site on different sub-folder so the backups from the other sites will not show up on other sites.

To be able to do that, you will need UpdraftPlus Dropbox add-on or UpdraftPlus Premium package for multiple sites.

Thanks for your reply but this was not an issue previously. I have multiple clients and a mixup never happened before. I was able to restore a backup for a client successfully in January 2019 so it seems like something changed. I will do what you recommended, but being able to have sub-directories on my own dropbox account shouldn’t be something I have to pay additional for.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the late reply.

I’m afraid that this feature has never been available in the free version. However, if you use different account for each client then that is possible without the add-on.
