Is it safe to use this Plugin?

  • I have been using this “WP Featherlight – A Simple jQuery Lightbox” plugin for many years and it’s my favorite. But the plugin is not updated for more then 3 years, is it safe to use?

  • I just reviewed the plugin for a customer. The PHP/Wordpress part is very clean and lean. And the included JS library is up to date as far as I can see. But I currently cant’s say how it works with Gutenberg, and I didn’t make a line-by-line review. So: It makes an overall good impression. But that doesn’t garantee that there’s vulnarability hidden somewhere. Plus: The older a plugin gets, the more likely it is, that it brakes with furhter PHP-Versions …

    That’s not a real answer to your question, but I hope it helps a bit. We will take a look at the plugin again in summer, when we review the site for accessibility more thoroughly.
