    Hello,
I’m using Complianz since a while and I adrice all my students to use it. But I just got a message from a “GDPR specialist” who told me that Complianz is not stopping the cookies. So he asked me to stop to use it and to use an other plugin.
I’m disappointed, and I would like more information from you before to delete your plugin (that I love!).
Is Complianz stopping the cookies when you ask it to do it, or not?
Thank you for your information and have a nice day!

    Hi @rashely,

Yes, Complianz will block non-functional cookies until consent is provided by the visitor of your website. But as every website is different, this could require some additional configuration steps on the side of the admin.

We would be glad to look into your website specifically if you provide us with an URL, and we can inform you about the steps to take.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @rashely,

Am I correct to assume that the site uses Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics?

If that is the case, please see sections 3.1 and 3.2 in our Tag Manager configuration guide for the explanation on how to make tags fire only when the correct consent type has been obtained.

    The short/summarized version:

To only fire these tags when the visitor accepts a category in the Cookie Banner, you can create “custom events” in Tag Manager (example here), which correspond to the categories shown in the Cookie Banner.

Assign your new custom event as the Firing Trigger of your Tag (cmplz_event_statistics, in my example), this will result in this tag only being fired when the visitor consents to the Statistics category.

    Hope this helps!

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
