So, I need this plugin to short some links that aren’t on the site I have. But it keeps generating links for pages and posts, and that results in a problem.

Let’s say I have link.com/about-us , the url auto-generated by the plugin is link.com/about-us and when someone access the link it keeps redirecting to the same page, over and over until it crashes. It crashed a client site today.

    Can I disable that option?

    Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience you had.

Just want to confirm that when URL Shortify generates a short link, by default it doesn’t take the page or post slug.

So, the plugin can’t generate the URL link.com/about-us. It generates with a random slugs like asfg, gdhe etc..

As you are facing the issue, please change the short link slug by editing short links.

Another thing, we have added an option in the PRO plugin from where you can enable/ disable autogeneration of short links of different custom post types. You can disable auto-generation of short links from there.

    Hope that helps.

The plugin can generate links like that: https://imgur.com/M83dQHU ?? Dunno why!

I have the last version of WP and the the last version of This plugin installed.

    Hi,

There is a provision to completly disable automatic generation of short links for specific custom post types in URL Shortify PRO

Alternatively, you can also uncheck the “Generate Short Link” checkbox for a specific page, post. When you uncheck it, it won’t generate a short link on post/ page publish.

    Hope that helps.
