Is it possible to remove moment.js and plugin still work?

I am trying to make my site very optimized, and moment.js is even larger than jquery, over 40kb.

Does the entire countdown timer plugin depend on it?

Or only for certain date displays? I am just using Simple Countdown type ([ycd_countdown] shortcode.)

Can I block moment.js from loading on my site?
