Is it possible to eliminate the need for MySQL?

    Is it a waste of time to figure out if it’s possible to hack WordPress so that it can be used without mySQL and use flatfiles instead?

    Flatfiles as in text only? Sure, you can download the code and go for it. It will be a gigantic undertaking. Just curious – why would you want to do this?
