Is it possible to eliminate sections?

Hello!

I recently installed illdy and am enjoying the different sections below the Jumbotron. However, I only want to keep the team, about, and latest news sections. Is it possible to eliminate the other sections? Right now I have these sections repeating themselves.

Also, how do you go about changing the font size and color? I would like to increase the size and darken the color of the font in the body of blog posts. Is this just done through custom CSS or can it be changed through appearance<customize?

And one more question if you don’t mind! I uploaded a background picture, but would like to have a slightly transparent white background behind blog post and page content to make it easier to read. How would I make this background?
