    Hello,

Is it possible to block email addresses for certain domains with the contact form?

For example, can I get the form to display an error message such as “Please use an alternative address” if someone enters a Hotmail, Outlook or Live.com address?

    Hope someone can advise. ??

  • Hi, yes that is possible to achieve. You would have to add a regex code in the following e-mail field Validation regex:.

    Hello,

Thank you for your assistance. I’ve had a look through the plugin files but I can’t find any reference to “Validation regex”. Can you tell me which file it’s in please?

Hi, go to Fields tab. Then select the field you want to work with and click on Show Details button. This will show you many options to work with. Here you will see the following feature Validation regex:.

Let me know if you need more help.

Ah, I see where it is now! Thanks. I was thinking it was one of the plugin files that needed to be edited!

I have to confess that I’ve never heard of Regex before. Having now looked at some examples of it, I don’t know where to begin! It’s nothing like php! Lol.

Yes that is correct, it is nothing like PHP :). There are many sites on the internet that provide plenty of information about regex coding.

I think I might just look for a regex coder to take on the job. The learning curve and time needed for a one time use doesn’t really make sense for me to try and do it myself.

There are a few gigs on Fiverr that offer Regex work. Even if it ends up costing $15 or $20, that would be well worth it as a time saver! ??

Thanks for the link! I’ll check them out.

One last question. If I get this working and someone inputs a domain which I’m blocking, does the error message show as a pop-up?

I have this currently set-up on a newsletter opt-in form. If someone tries to use a microsoft address, they get a pop-up asking them to use an alternative. Just wondering if it would work the same with the contact form?

Yes, they would get a popup with the message you set up.

If you don’t need any more help, can you mark this support thread as resolved.

    Thank you
