Is it possible to add parent and child variations of a product?

Yes, just don’t use the “Link all variations” button. You will need to setup each variation which exists using the appropriate attributes.

I know this is an old-ish thread, but how exactly do you set up parent/child variations in WooCommerce?

For example, a product is available in 12 different finishes, but some of those finishes are not available with a certain function.

Function 10 – all 12 finishes available
Function 15 – only 1,2,5,6 and 7
Function 51 – only finishes 3,7,8,8,10 and 12
and so on

Either set up the variations that are available individually or “link all variations” and then delete the ones that are not available.

Hi there,
we have the same problem since upgrading from WC 2.3.10 to 2.4.8
We have a lot of variations like
model A is available in the color 1, 2, 3 and 5
and model B is available in color 4, 5, and 6.
So, if i choose the model A in the first column, color 6 shuold not be even a field to choose, only 1, 2, 3 and 5.

This worked perfect, before we updated woocommerce.

Now if i choose model A, all the colors are available to choose – even those which are not a variable product in the backend.
If i choose a variation which is not a product in the backend, like model A and color 6, i will get a message “this variation is not available”.

So what can we do to only show the available variations of the product in the frontend, like it was before?

Did you roll back your WooCommerce? I clicked through some of your filaments and wasn’t able to get to an invalid product.

Hi,
I’ve installed Woocommerce in local. My store have one product with 128 variants combinations.
I’ve not used “Link all variations” button but setup individually. After last Woocommerce update for each variants I can choose all options.

Can you tell me how you solved it?
