Is it possible to add a “Set Featured Image” button to the admin toolbar

I’d like to be able to set a featured image for an event (or post or page) directly from the Admin Toolbar without going into the edit screen. I’m not sure if this is possible.
For example, this event does not have a featured image yet: [ redundant link removed ] It would be helpful if while logged in and viewing this page, I could click a button on the Admin Toolbar that allows me to select an image from my harddrive. It would save a click and lots of page loading time.
Maybe there is a plugin that does this, or perhaps a tweak to the functions.php file. Or maybe it’s not possible. I don’t know. I haven’t been able to find anything on the forums about this specific type of change to the Admin Toolbar (I’ve seen how to add a link, but I don’t think that’s relevant for this use case.) Any help and guidance is appreciated!
