    Hi!

I’d like to know if it is possible to remove (filter) H1 content from the Excerpt in Post grid block?

The thing’s that H1 mostly duplicates titles and, at the same time, located at the top of the page, so it only adds extra text to a fairly short Excerpt substantially.

    Hello Sweta,

Basically, I just want to get rid of the H1 contents in the grid.

Now let me show you a few screenshots step by step:

    1. I create a post and then immediately disable its title using the Astra theme feature, so that I can put another H1 text in the right place with the right styles:
    1.1. https://prnt.sc/t90vk7
    1.2. https://prnt.sc/t90wee

    2. Now I create a page with “Post Grid” block. So now you can see that “Here’s a custom title” displays here:
    2.1. https://prntscr.com/t914vb

And, in fact, this is the problem. I would not want to see the custom title (technically H1 content) there ??

    Hello @vadimdev,

I’d like to let you know, a WordPress excerpt is basically a summary of a longer article, often used as a replacement on the blog index and archives pages to avoid needing to display the full content of each post.

For example, displaying the full content for ten posts that are 1,000 words each means that your blog listing pages will contain ~10,000 words, which is an unmanageable wall of text for most users.

Excerpts allow you to slim this down by showing short summaries instead of the full text of each post.

Now, when you add a Post Grid block then, by default, WordPress generates excerpts by merely selecting the first 55 words of a post, which also includes the Custom title as well. And hence you are getting the Custom title at the beginning of the excerpt.

In your case, to fix that, you need to add your desired content into the Excerpt section from here.

I hope that the above information helps.

Thank you for such a detailed answer.

In truth, I expected to get a basic instruction with a filter for functions.php.

But, in general (in my case), the option you proposed is quite suitable.

Could you help me to solve this issue as well? I’m ready to provide more details if necessary.

    You’re most welcome, @vadimdev!

I’m glad that the solution works out for you. Thanks for letting me know. ??

I have already responded to that case. Looking forward to hearing from you.
