Is it ok to disallow .php in robots.txt

I have seen some robots.txt file optimized for WP. It contains

Disallow: /*.php*

Will this not hurt indexing the posts/articles? Where are the posts/articles located on my wordpress directory? Are they not part of .php file I am disallowing? Thanks
