Is it ok to change a theme developed by someone else?

  • I’m a newbee. I like some of the themes others have designed, but want to change some elements. Are these themes locked? Can you make changes to layout, color & functionality. Is this possible or not kosher?

    What theme in particular?

    All themes located here on www.remarpro.com (in the Extend section) are free to distribute, modify, use, etc. They are GPL-Compatible.

    Thanks, just trying to get my bearings. I like various elements in some of the themes, but none provide what I’m looking for. Essentially I’d like to integrate photoessays into a blog, with an attached forum, where people can leave comments and their own images.

    I have been reading about integrating bbpress with wordpress, but I’m not up to speed yet. Any help on that would be much appreciated.
