Is it normal that filenames end in .jpg.webp for some images?
-
I am getting .jpg.webp in the filenames of some of my images, while others seem to be only .webp …is this normal?
Example of this:
https://clearstoryinternational.com/wp-content/webp-express/webp-images/doc-root/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/IMG-20181218-WA0010.jpg.webpThat’s the second image on the homepage, the first one seems to be entirely .webp : https://clearstoryinternational.com
Does this mean not all images are being served correctly as webp?
Also, when I ran through the Google Page-Speed Insights test, sometimes it tells me to enable WebP, but other times it says I already have it enabled. I’ve tried clearing cache and using different URLs but it seems to be random. Does this mean WebP is not consistently working?
Finally, I just wanted to say, fantastic plugin! I have wanted to implement webp for ages, and Plesk servers have (finally!) enabled GD conversion so I was able to try it out yesterday. I’ve had a noticeable actual load time improvement for users, even with this issue ??
