Is it necessary to use WP Widget?

    I’m on the verge of successfully completing my website, however, I’m still thinking that I should replace the traditional WP_Widgets with a custom HTML/ CSS widgets.

    Is it necessary that I use WP widgets, or it is normal to build my own sidebar.php as I did with the HTML?

    Widgets just make it easier, but there’s no reason you couldn’t hard-code your sidebar if you wanted to. ??
