Is Facebook Login working, and real Facebook directions?

  • The sticky note at the top of this forum from several years ago says that Facebook socail login is not supported by this plugin (Heateor), is that still true?

    I’ve installed the plugin, and there are directions included for how to “create an app” in Facebook in order to link Facebook through the plugin to your site. However, the directions no longer match what is found once in the Meta developers page as you follow the directions. Specifically, you are instructed to click the “Get Started” button that maybe used to exist but no longer does. I am only guessing if I find something that I think should be the page from there on out. Since this seems to be a rather lengthy process, I don’t want to guess and then find out I’ve guessed wrong.

    You would like to click that thread and read the details. This plugin supports Facebook login.
    If you read step 1 carefully, it says – If you are here first time, you will see the screen shown in the screenshot below. If you have created apps before, move to step 3.

    Ok, thank you. I did read the directions, and where they may have matched the Facebook site in the past, they no longer line up with the Facebook site. That’s why I was looking for a replacement for Step 1. Step 1 is impossible to follow. There is no “Get Started” for me to find and click.

    Okay. Open a new browser tab, login to your Facebook account at the website Facebook.com. Then refresh the tab where you opened the Facebook Developers page. Let me know what menu-items you see.
