I am considering the wp-staging plugin for a new project. Once installed and the clone is created, does the plugin keep the clone updated as new content (posts, plugins…) is added to the live site, or is it ‘frozen’ as first created?

Assuming it is frozen, if I add new plugins to the live site, I assume that I should re-run the cloning process every now and again so that the clone is kept as an exact mirror of the live site?

Once created, how do I login to the staging site? I see from the ‘how to create’ video there is a Staging Site Name box. Does this then get used in the URL to login? Or do you access the staging site via the live site WP admin portal? Can you illustrate please?

    Hi @zimbo000

Yes, it will be frozen at the state which you cloned it at first time.

There is another button called “Update” that would make the staging site an exact copy of the live site; check this screenshot:

You can log into the staging site anytime by adding “/wp-login.php” or “/wp-admin” to the end of the staging site’s URL.

    Thanks,
    Alaa
