• I had been for 5 days trying to figure out what was stopping my checkout getaway page to work… I did configure Paypal a trillion times, I started accepting transfer… but nothing was working… as soon as someone was trying to pay… no matter what and how… it was not working…

Today, happy day… I thought in dissabling all plugins, and voila! it did work! Checkout pages was working again and customers where able to purchase items in my store again… Dammit!!!

Then I thought… ok… this mess was made by a plugin, but which? how? and why? After a lot of investigation… I found the issue… all other plugins didn’t made anything… But any time I was activating Yoast SEO my checkout page would stop working… After a trillion times… (I really think Yoast is a plugin to have)… I decided to leave it deactivated… So I have not Yoast SEO anymore… at least not until this issue is repaired…

I hope this helps the developers and helps many other shop owners… because the issue doesn’t look small and it had been creating big trouble.

    Al the best

  • Hi @loconoise,

We are sorry to hear that the checkout gateway on your website didn’t work when Yoast SEO was active. We can imagine how concerning it is when your customers can’t check out due to a conflict with a plugin. We haven’t received any similar reports from other users so far so we’d like to investigate why this problem occurred on your website and try to find a solution so that you can continue using Yoast SEO.

To this aim, we’d like to ask you a couple of questions:

    1. First of all, can you please make sure you’re running the latest version of WordPress v5.5.1, Yoast SEO v14.9 and the rest of your plugins and your theme?
    2. We know you already performed a conflict check, however, we’d need to know if the problem still happens with a minimum set of plugins active and a default WordPress theme. Therefore, can you please check if the problem occurs when all non-Yoast plugins are deactivated (except your eCommerce and Paypal plugins) and your theme is on Twenty Twenty?
If the problem doesn’t occur in this setup, you’ll need to activate one plugin at a time until your find the plugin (or set of plugins) that conflicts with Yoast SEO. This help article explains how to perform a conflict check step by step.

We’d appreciate it if you could create a new topic in the plugin forum and include your answers to the aforementioned questions. Our support team will look into the issue and assist you further.

    Thanks!

    Thanks Monbauza,

I did the process as you explain. I didn’t deactivate the theme (EXTRA from Elegant Themes) since I don’t use child themes and I don’t want to mess with that…

For the rest, the only plugin creating conflict is Yoast SEO, and as I said… it was the last one I could imagine to create a conflict.

I cannot help much more for now I guess.

    Hey @loconoise and @monbauza,

I have the same trouble here. Also using Extra (and didn’t deactivate it for the same reason) and I’m having troubles between Yoast SEO and my Checkout for WooCommerce.

I can’t find any help or solution so far, and this is the only conflict that exists, so I guess I will end up deactivating Yoast SEO even though I find it very useful.

I would love to hear from you if you find any solution to this!

    Have a good week,
    Gael
