• For years I’ve been using both iThemes Security and BBQ: Block Bad Queries.

But with the following iThemes Security System Tweaks, is the BBQ redundant?

    • Filter request methods
    • Filter suspicious query strings
    • Filter non-English characters
    • Filter long URL strings

  • They block different sets of patterns so there may be some overlap, but no they are not redundant.

Thanks for the quick reply, and for all your good work for the WP community. Longtime fan of Digging Into WordPress and your other work. (I just realized I haven’t reviewed BBQ — fixed that.)

Thank you Andy, it is greatly appreciated.
