• Is anyone using Subscribe2 in a WP4.0 environment, as I am still curious why I can not get it to work in my WP 4.0 environment.

    For now I use SimpleSubcribe, which is a simpeler version if Subscribe2, but I still prefer Subscribe2.

    My Subscribe2 issue is that it does not accept any (new) subscribers at all, nor does it see my existing registered users, which I can add to the subscription list…

    Thanks
    Frank

  • @fjkuypers,

    I’m using it fine and have been since the release of WordPress 4.0.

    On installation your existing Registered Users are not automatically subscribed, perhaps you need to Bulk Subscriber them to your categories in order to make their subscriptions active.

    Also, it may be that the installation is not managing to create the subscribe2 database table, this happens on some blogs where the user in the wp-config.php file does not have full database permissions. In this case you may need to create the table manually. Check in PHPmyAdmin or similar to see if the table is created after install.

    @mattyrob,

    Thanks for the info… . What is de the filename of the Subscriber2 database?

    I guess I need to look for it in the Subscribers plugin area…

    @fjkuypers,

    Filename?!? It isn’t a file, it’s a database table created in your WordPress database – the core tables include ones like ‘post’, ‘options’, ‘postmeta’ and so on. There should be one called ‘subscribe2’ as well.
