Is adding the code to the function.php required?

    What code are you referring to?

    If all your doing is Gravity Forms, then there is no need to add any code into the functions.php file. If you are wanting to Encrypt and Decrypt data using other plugins or methods then you will need to use code.

    Can you explain a bit more.
