• Hi, im new to WordPress.

It appears ( to me at least ) that there are alot of ‘old’ WordPress toturials/ educational material on the internet.

Based on these toturials, it should be possible to add Widgetized Areas ( areas on, for example, a new Page that lets you add Widgets on the new Page’s Wigetized Area ) by downloading and installing a plugin.

On the other hand, the information on my current WordPress page seems to state that it is NOT possible to install/ add NEW Widgets in the form of plugins ( the only widgets available are the ones attached to each ‘payment plan’ ).

Is it possible to add a Wigetized area to a Page in WordPress?
If yes, how do i do this?
If no, was this possible in the past/ with previous versions of WP?

  • This is not default WordPress behavior, so you need a plugin for this. The best one I would recommend to check out is SiteOrigin’s Page Builder. It allows you to manage a page visually with drag-and-drop interface, and the widgets are used to fill pages with content as needed.
