    Hi Rhys –

I just discovered your plug in and was amazed at how quickly it worked with the EPN RSS feed, and how nicely formatted the feed shows on my blog! Kudos!

I have tried several other RSS plug ins, and none formatted as nicely or easily as yours.

Question though…I tried an RSS Aggregator over the weekend, and while the formatting left a lot to be desired, once I put my feed in, it just kept pulling new items in, and posting them, day after day.

I really LIKE that feature and wondered if your plug in can work the same, somehow?

I am pulling a feed from a few different sellers, who sell luxury items. I would prefer to set the feed once, and have it continue to populate my site, rather than having to post the same feed every day, or every week, etc. Especially since I don’t know how you can prevent duplicates from showing?

Is there any way your plug in can continually pull and post from the same feed, ad infinitum?

    Thanks for any info.

    Hi MJ,

I am not sure what you mean by continuous posting. Do you have an example?

    Hi Rhys –

Continuous posting means the feed keeps working, without stopping. As long as new items are added to the feed, on eBay’s end, will they continue to show in the feed on my website? Or is there a “limit” to how many posts it will pull from the feed?

I’ve tried a few other plugins…one you could only pull 20 posts (it wasn’t continuous) and then I tried an RSS Aggregator, that keeps pulling from the feed, at intervals you set (i.e., every hour, every five hours, etc.) The feed just “continues” with that plug in.

Which way does yours work? Continuous posts from the feed that is uploaded or is there a limit to how many items it pulls?

    Thanks.

    Hi MJ,

Hmmmm…..i mean, my plugin takes the latest items on the feed and puts it on the site. It only adds the limit you set, so doesn’t add all items.

So I’m going to tentatively say “no” it probably doesn’t.

    Hi Rhys –

    Ok. I am confused now!

Aren’t RSS feeds a continual feed? An RSS feed just doesn’t pull “one time” right? You set the feed and when new items come along, the feed should “update?”

If I pull 100 items from eBay, on the first RSS feed, and five more items are loaded on eBay, later that week, then those five would update on my feed, correct?

That is what I mean about “continuous” posting.

People on the eBay Partner Network Forum Boards recommend your plugin, so I’m assuming it keeps on updating feeds?

I think I have this figured out?

I just tried your plug in again. It formats BEAUTIFULLY, but, the problem is, when you enter the feed, it goes in to ONE blog post.

Most of the other RSS plugins create a “post” for each feed item (so if there are 100 items in the feed, you get 100 blog posts.) That is what I am looking for, and that is why those kind of plugins “update,” because they continually pull the feed and add new blog posts, each time they pull the feed.

Any plans to have your plugin create consecutive posts, rather than putting the feed in to one post?

The “look/layout” of your plugin, is the best I have seen, out of all the ones I’ve tried. But, I need a plugin that will continually pull the feed and create new blog posts.

Please let me know if I am confused here, somehow!

    Thanks.

Ah MJ! I get you ??

Errmmm….right now it can’t. The problem is that from a user standpoint you will have a lot of posts created.

It’s possible, in fact you could probably do it with an RSS to post exporter, but yeah it wouldn’t be something I would seriously look at in a plugin.

    Hey Rhys –

    Thanks for responding.

Damn! Wish yours would publish to posts!

That’s the whole point of RSS feeds (at least from eBay’s EPN program), I want to fill my blog with feeds of items to buy, so there couldn’t be “too many” posts! The more posts, the more chances to make money!

Thanks for the response and what a great plugin! It just won’t work for me now.

    Happy New Year!

    Mj
