Is 2010 Theme still updated?

    I read somewhere that the 2010 default theme is no longer being updated. First of all, is this true? If it is true, should I be concerned about security? I am not using this theme, but one of my clients is. Ultimately, I think that my client should move to a more responsive theme such as 2016. However, I would like to be able to tell him if the 2010 theme will make his site more vulnerable. Any information would be appreciated!

    According to the data, the last update was December 8, 2015. So that’s a pretty recent update. I don’t see any evidence to suggest the theme is no longer supported. So you (and your client) should be good.

    While they won’t be adding any new features to existing themes, the WordPress theme team is pretty good about applying any security patches that are needed, more so than probably any other theme.

    Thanks all! I will rest easier now.

    Well, the them has been updated but it is not up to date, as it fails the Theme Check tests. It’s an outdated theme and yes, your client would be better off with a modern, responsive theme.
